Description
Ocoa Bay is a great caribbean sea bay in the province of Azua, about a hundred kms from Santo Domingo. It starts from the small fisherman village of Palmar de Ocoa to Playa Blanca. Throughout the bay there are beaches (Playa Biyeya, Caracoles beach, Playa Monte Rio, Playa Chiquita) who are frequented mainly by the inhabitants of the region and Azua de Compostela.
The most tourist part is to Palmer de Ocoa where there are some restaurants, hotels Hotel Ibiza, Hotel Playa Mia) and especially beautiful villas that serve as second homes at well-off Dominicans. The villas have direct access to the sea, a swimming pool and often a private pontoon. Ocoa Bay is very appreciated for its tranquility.
The bay is suitable for fishing, kayaking walk and boat rides. It's a good place to go for a walk with your family, it is an area that is not yet invaded by intensive tourism.
It is place in the Dominican Republic where the vine is cultivated for the manufacture of wine.
