Description
Cueva Fun Fun is one of the largest caves in the Caribbean, 28 kilometers long, in Los Haitises national park. The limestone rocks and leftover corals and organic matter allow the water to dissolve the rock and form caverns. There are many tunnels, underground corridors, stalactites, stalagmites, streams, chimneys... an extraordinary underground landscape. In the caves there are also fish, shrimps, insects, bats and birds.
The excursion begins with a horseback ride through Los Haitises Park to arrive at the entrance to the cave. A descent of about twenty meters allows you to reach the center of the cave and begin the discovery of Cueva Fun Fun. On the way back, a cold drink is offered and a swim in the Almirante river is offered. The return to the center is done on horseback.
It is a unique experience in the Dominican Republic.

Cueva Fun Fun is located in Capote 15 miles from Hato Mayor del Rey in Los Haitises National Park. Admission is chargeable. The ranch organizes excursions departing from major hotels in Punta Cana and Santo Domingo. Likewise, many excursion agencies offer this activity.
