The beaches of the province of Barahona
The province of Barahona has many pretty little beaches about 180 kilometers from Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. Beaches of gray sand, pebbles, white sand which are mainly frequented by the locals, the inhabitants of the neighboring provinces and the inhabitants of the capital.
The province of Barahona is located along the Caribbean Sea with about 70 kilometers of coastline, there are many pretty little beaches. Like the beaches of neighboring provinces (Azua, San Cristobal, Peravia), they are mainly frequented by the inhabitants of the capital who come on vacation with family or friends.
Domestic tourism is well developed, this region is very popular with the Dominicans.
International tourism is less developed but it exists because this region is much more natural than the big tourist centers like Punta Cana, Puerto Plata... Foreign tourists who wish to discover another face of the Dominican Republic come to visit the province of Barahona.
