The beaches of the province of San Cristobal
The province of San Cristobal counts with some pretty beaches which are mainly frequented by the inhabitants of the region and by the inhabitants of Santo Domingo. With Boca Chica (to the East) these are the beaches closest to the capital of the Dominican Republic.
The province of San Cristobal is located along the Caribbean Sea with about 30 kilometers of coastline, there are some beaches, some of black sand. They are very frequented by the inhabitants of the capital who come to spend the day with family or friends. Domestic tourism is fairly well developed thanks to its proximity to Santo Domingo which brings many visitors. The region has many secondary houses belonging to the notables of the region.
The province of San Cristobal has some pretty beaches:
- Playa Gringo, located at the mouth of the river and near the port of Haina.
- Los Cuadritos beach (San Gregorio de Nigua).
- playa Najayo, popular beach with great little restaurants and lots of people on weekends and holidays.
- Playita Los Nonos.
- Cocolandia beach.
- Playa Palenque, another very popular gray sand beach with restaurants all along the beach.

The province of San Cristobal is located in the south of the Dominican Republic, between Santo Domingo (to the east) and the provinces of Peravia and San Jose de Ocoa (to the west). To the north is the province of Monsenor Nouel and Monte Plata.
To the south is the Caribbean Sea.

The beaches of Najayo and Palenque are pleasant. Even more on weekdays because much quieter.
