A quiet beach in Rio San Juan.

Playa Caleton is a beautiful beach, relatively small but quiet (except on weekends and holidays when there are a little more people), clean, the water is crystal clear and warm.

It is located in a cove and therefore the beach is protected from the wind and waves. Offshore there are rocks that stick out of the water. It is a good place to practice snorkeling and admire the seabed and the multicolored fish.

As on many beaches in the Dominican Republic, it is possible to rent sun loungers and umbrellas. There are also some shops to buy food and drink.

Playa Caleton is one of the beaches to visit during a vacation in Rio San Juan and in the north of the Dominican Republic. The Laguna Gri Gri is nearby, as well as other beautiful beaches such as Playa Grande, Playa Preciosa, Los Muertos beach...

Playa Caleton is easily accessible, it is at the exit of Río San Juan (to the left) going towards Playa Grande and Cabrera. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the province of María Trinidad Sánchez.
Puerto Plata is about 90 kilometers away and Nagua 55 km.
