La Ciénaga beach is located in the town of the same name, on the edge of the Caribbean Sea, between Barahona and Paraiso, in the southwest of the Dominican Republic.
It is a pebble beach, like many beaches in this region. The sea is usually calm, but depending on the season it can be a bit rough.
La Ciénaga beach is located along the boardwalk, it is easy to find. In the surroundings there are small local restaurants.
Like many beaches in the Dominican Republic, La Cienaga beach is very crowded on weekends, holidays, and during school vacations. The other days it is much calmer. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the province of Barahona.
