Los Cuadritos Beach - San Gregorio de Nigua - Dominican Republic

Excellent beach, with an impressive view, a quiet place to relax.

Playa Los Cuadritos is located south of San Gregorio de Nigua, about 30 minutes from San Cristobal.

The beach is large but not suitable for swimming except for the part that was developed during the time of the dictator Rafael Leónidas Trujillo (1891-1961). This beach is steeped in history, there is the former summer house Casa Blanca (La Hacienda María) of the dictator who came with his family to enjoy the beach and all the comforts one could dream of: mini golf courses, huge swimming pool, stables. Upon his death, the farm was abandoned and remained so for many years.

The beach has been fitted out with square-shaped breakwaters that block the waves and create artificial pools that allow swimming.

Parking is easy, be aware that there is not much shade and there is no place to buy food or drinks.

Los Cuadritos beach is a very good place to do photo sections.

The beach is only 30 minutes from Santo Domingo. With Boca Chica beach to the east, it is the closest beach to the capital.
