Playa Fronton in Las Galeras - Dominican Republic
Fronton Beach is located in the extreme northeastern corner of the Dominican Republic, in Las Galeras in the province of Samana.
It is a deserted and wild beach that faces the Atlantic Ocean, it is accessible by boat from Las Galeras but also on foot. In both cases inquire with fishermen who are on the beach of this small village on the Samana Peninsula.
A secluded and heavenly beach: Playa Fronton
By boat, it takes about 25 minutes to get to Fronton Beach along the rocky coast of extraordinary beauty.
Playa Fronton is a beach of great beauty, with on one side an impressive cliff of several tens of meters high and on the other the ocean stretching as far as the eye can see.
There is the main beach and two small beaches within walking distance along the coast.
It is a beach of white sand, lined with coconut trees, wild almond trees, some cacti and other shrubs.
It is one of the most beautiful dive spots of Las Galeras when the sea is calm, with corals and colorful tropical fish.
It is necessary to bring the meal and drinks because the small restaurant was closed by the authorities (2013).
The only negative is that it is not very convenient to swim because the seabed is dotted with corals and sea urchins. However small corners with a sandy bottom allows to bathe.
This is one of the excursions to Las Galeras not to be missed.
