Description
Cabo Frances Viejo National Park in Cabrera is a coastal protected area in the province of Maria Trinidad Sanchez in the north of the Dominican Republic. The park has existed since 1974 and was declared a natural monument in 2009.
It is a coastal plateau with cliffs, reefs and beautiful beaches, it is about 1.5 square kilometers with 5 kilometers of coastline. There are three lighthouses which were built at different times and which have an extraordinary view of the ocean. The main attraction of Cabo Frances Viejo Park is El Breton beach, a small bay surrounded by impressive cliffs.
In the humid forest of the park visitors can observe many species of plants, flowers, birds.
The national park is part of the ecotourism route of the north coast of the Dominican Republic. Many photography enthusiasts come to take pictures of the beaches, cliffs, coves, birds, flowers and country lanes.
