Description
Sierra Martin García National Park is located in the southwest of the Dominican Republic, between the provinces of Barahona and Azua. It is a protected area with flora and fauna of great importance, with rare plant and animal species.
The national park has 4 forest zones which offer a great diversity of plant species with mangroves, a dry forest, a subtropical dry forest and a subtropical humid forest and a low mountain forest. The fauna is mainly composed of birds, some of which are migratory and others endemic to this region. there are also reptiles like iguanas and snakes.
Sierra Martin García National Park is very popular with nature lovers and bird watchers who come to observe the many birds present in the park.
