Description
Isabel de Torres National Park is a small mountain 800 meters above sea level that dominates Puerto Plata with stunning views of the city and surrounding area.
The park is 15 km2 with a botanical garden, a nature reserve that is home to many species of animals, birds and plants, many of which are endemic to this region, it has been declared a scientific reserve. The only way to get to the top of the park is by using the cable car. On arrival there is a statue of Christ the Redeemer.
Isabel de Torres national park was established in the 1970s, the installation of the funicular, which was primarily a tourist attraction, attracts many local and foreign tourists as it is the only cable car in the Caribbean.
Before it was transformed into a park, there was an anti-aircraft fortress at the top, built under the Trujillo dictatorship to protect the city from possible foreign incursions.

Isabel de Torres National Park is located in Puerto Plata, in the north of the Dominican Republic.
It is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday.
Price for foreigners: USD 10 over 11 and over, USD 5 for minors aged 5-10, Free for minors 0-4.
Price for residents: RD$ 250 Over 11 and over, RD$ 150 Minors between 5 and 10 years old, Free for minors 0 to 4 years old.
