Sabana Grande de
Palenque is a town near the Caribbean Sea in the south
of the Dominican Republic, near the capital Santo
Domingo. It is a picturesque village situated on a broad plain
with pristine natural conditions.
Sabana Palenque was established as a municipality in 1945 and is
a geographic unit of the city of San
Cristobal.
It is usually attended by hundreds of people from the capital, San
Cristobal and other cities and is one of the most popular beach
destinations in the region, but it still lacks the infrastructure
to become a major tourist center. One hotel, the Playa
Palenque, another hotel is located in Playa Najayo, Hotel
Najayo Beach.
