Bayahibe is a small village in the east of the Dominican Republic, located 10 minutes of La Romana, on the Caribbean coast. Founded as a rural population of fishermen in 1874 by Juan Brito and his family, the city is now a major tourist destination in the Dominican Republic with Playa Dominicus.

Originally Bayahibe was a small fishing village, today the majority of fishermen is converted in the transport of tourists to neighboring islands. The village (not to be confused with Dominicus) is small with restaurants, many agencies excursions, diving centers, two or three bars, a small supermarket, a billiard room, a colmado (grocery store) where together, in the late afternoon people (villagers and foreigners) around a President really fresh.
